Rabat is a modern city with a rich historical heritage.
Considered a relatively big city (a population of over 1.2 million), Rabat is a quiet, peaceful and relaxed city with a temperate climate. Its fabulous combination of old and new architecture makes it a wonderful tourist attraction. Rabat is pedestrian friendly; tourists can walk along the city’s old fortifications and historical monuments and take waterfront strolls.
One of the big rewards of living/visiting Rabat is the chance to experience its cultural life. A number of local and foreign cultural institutions organize daily cultural events such as the Mohammed V Theater, one of the most active theaters in Morocco, or the Art Villa (Villa des Arts), an exhibit of the best contemporary art.
